Bhure Lal

Bhure Lal is a mason, who has worked in the Civil Engineering Department of the Indian Railways for nearly 30 years. He travels across North Central Railway's Agra Division, fixing everything from leaky station ceilings to tiny level crossings in remote areas.

A very funny man if you ever get to know him and can figure out his Haryanvi twang. Bhure Lal's had a stint in the army as well, which clearly shows in his ramrod straight posture. He's one of the many unsung heroes in Indian Railway' vast network. Little do we realize that it's people like that ensure that we get to our destination safe and sound.

Through him, I salute the hundreds of thousands of railway workers who've dedicated their lives in the service of the nation.

Beautiful post!

And like they say, you can take the man out of the military but you can't take the military out of the man! :)
